Full job descriptionA leading organisation in London is seeking a Finance Manager to take ownership of day-to-day finance operations and ensure the business runs with accurate, reliable, and well-controlled financial data. This critical role offers you the opportunity to manage all operational finance processes, maintain strong financial controls, and deliver precise monthly reporting. You will play a pivotal part in building a solid financial foundation that supports organisational growth and to drive operational excellence and high-quality financial insight.
What you bring:
The ideal candidate for this Finance Manager position brings extensive experience from previous roles in accounting or finance, typically three to five years or more, where dependability was paramount.
Your background ideally includes deep familiarity with management accounting principles as well as practical exposure to core processes such as billing/accounts payable/receivable/general ledger maintenance/month-end closing/preparation of management accounts/reconciliation/tax filings/statutory reporting/audit liaison/cashflow forecasting/working capital optimisation/process improvement/documentation/collaboration/supporting leadership. Part-qualified or fully qualified ACCA/CIMA/ACA status is preferred but not essential if you can demonstrate equivalent experience through previous roles.
*3-5+ years’ proven experience in an accounting or finance role where you have demonstrated reliability and responsibility in managing complex financial operations.
*Strong understanding of management accounting principles combined with practical knowledge of core financial processes such as billing, accounts payable/receivable, general ledger maintenance.
*Experience managing month-end close activities as well as preparing detailed management accounts and supporting schedules that reflect organisational performance accurately.
*Highly organised approach coupled with strong attention to detail ensures that every aspect of your work meets rigorous standards for accuracy and compliance.
*Comfortable working within a scaling environment where adaptability is key-your ability to respond positively to change will help drive improvements across finance functions.
*Advanced systems skills using platforms like Xero, QuickBooks or NetSuite (or similar), enabling you to streamline workflows and enhance efficiency within the team.
*Part-qualified or fully qualified ACCA/CIMA/ACA status is preferred but not essential if you can demonstrate equivalent experience through previous roles.
*Hands-on attitude combined with a detail-oriented mindset allows you to take ownership of operational tasks while proactively identifying issues/opportunities for improvement.
*Process-driven approach ensures structure is maintained even during periods of rapid growth or transition within the organisation.
*Ability to collaborate effectively across teams to ensure consistency between reporting/forecasting while supporting leadership need.
