Cambridge (hybrid - 1 day per week from home)
£60,000-£68,000 per annum
We are currently working with a leading Cambridge based not for profit organisation, seeking an experienced and proactive Finance Manager to join their Finance Office. This is a key leadership role responsible for delivering high-quality financial management and reporting across the organisation, its trading subsidiaries, and trusts.
This position plays a vital role in ensuring the organisation operates with strong financial controls, accurate reporting, and effective decision-making capability.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Management & Reporting
*Support the preparation of statutory accounts in line with UK GAAP
*Deliver accurate and timely financial reporting and analysis
*Lead on audit processes and liaise with external auditors
*Ensure effective financial controls and compliance with regulations
Team Leadership
*Manage and develop a small finance team
*Oversee day-to-day finance operations and month-end processes
*Ensure deadlines are met and high standards of work are maintained
*Promote financial awareness and best practice across the organisation [clare.cam.ac.uk]
Investment & Trust Accounting
*Monitor investment performance and prepare valuation reports
*Oversee trust fund accounting, drawdowns, and distributions
*Ensure funds are used appropriately in line with the organisation statutes
Wider Responsibilities
*Support treasury, payroll, tax, and endowment management
*Provide technical accounting guidance on complex matters
*Contribute to continuous improvement of finance processes
About You
We are looking for a qualified and motivated finance professional who can combine technical expertise with strong leadership:
*Fully qualified (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
*Proven experience in financial accounting and reporting
*Strong leadership and team management skills
*Excellent analytical and communication abilities
*Ability to influence stakeholders and support strategic decision-making [jobs.ac.uk]
Salary & Benefits
*Competitive salary (£61,500 – £67,957.50)
