Salary: £30,000 - £35,000 FTE
Are you an experienced Credit Controller looking to take ownership of the credit control function and play a key role in improving cash flow and reducing debtor days? We are seeking a proactive and commercially minded Senior Credit Controller to join our growing finance team in Cardiff.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys building strong customer relationships, driving collections performance, and working closely with stakeholders across the business. Similar Cardiff-based Senior Credit Controller opportunities are currently being advertised in the £30,000-£35,000 salary range, reflecting market rates for experienced professionals in the region.
Key Responsibilities*Manage the end-to-end credit control process across a portfolio of accounts.
*Proactively collect outstanding debt while maintaining positive customer relationships.
*Monitor customer credit limits and assess credit risk.
*Investigate and resolve invoice, billing, and payment queries.
*Produce aged debt reports and provide regular updates to management.
*Reduce debtor days and improve cash collection performance.
*Reconcile customer accounts and allocate incoming payments.
*Support month-end reporting and cash flow forecasting.
*Collaborate with sales, operations, and finance teams to resolve account issues.
*Identify and implement process improvements within the credit control function.
About You*Proven experience in a Senior Credit Controller, Credit Control Manager, or similar role.
*Strong understanding of credit management and debt recovery processes.
*Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
*Confident using Excel and finance/accounting systems.
*Highly organised with strong attention to detail.
*Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities.
*Experience within a B2B environment is desirable.
