Are you an enthusiastic Secondary Science Teacher seeking flexible teaching work across Retford?
Academics are recruiting qualified Science Teachers to support a variety of secondary schools throughout Retford on a temporary, ongoing supply basis.
This role is suitable for teachers with a Biology, Chemistry, or Physics specialism, while also offering opportunities to deliver broader Science lessons across the curriculum.
Position: Secondary Science Teacher
Location: Retford, Nottinghamshire
Contract: Temporary, flexible ongoing supply
Pay: £140 - £195 per day (paid via PAYE - no umbrella company fees)
Start Date: ASAP or a start date that suits you
About the Role
Working as a Secondary Science Teacher in Retford, you will inspire pupils through engaging lessons that develop scientific understanding, curiosity, and confidence.
You may teach within your specialist discipline where available, but you will also have opportunities to provide general Science cover across KS3 and KS4. This makes the role ideal for teachers who enjoy working across different schools and departments while maintaining flexibility.
Both experienced teachers and ECTs are encouraged to apply.
Key Responsibilities
*Deliver engaging Science lessons across KS3 and KS4
* Teach general Science alongside your specialist subject area where required
* Adapt teaching strategies to meet a range of learning needs
* Support pupils’ academic progress and attainment
* Maintain high standards of behaviour and classroom management
* Carry out assessment and feedback in line with school expectations
* Work collaboratively with Science departments and wider staff teams
* Uphold safeguarding responsibilities and school policies
Candidate Requirements
*Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
* Experience teaching Science within secondary education
* Biology, Chemistry, or Physics specialism welcomed
* Excellent communication and classroom management skills
* Flexible and professional approach
* Enhanced DBS (or willingness to apply)
