Location: Oxford | Hybrid (3 days onsite)
Salary: £32,000 – £37,000 (pro rata)
Working pattern: Full-time or Part-time (30-36.5 hours)
About the role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly organised HR Officer to join a busy and collaborative professional services team within a leading academic environment in Oxford.
Reporting to the HR Manager, you’ll work closely with colleagues to deliver a comprehensive and efficient HR service across a varied workforce. This is a generalist role offering exposure to the full employee lifecycle and the chance to further develop your HR career in a fast-paced and rewarding setting.
Key responsibilities
*Acting as the first point of contact for HR queries, providing guidance to managers and staff
*Managing end-to-end recruitment processes, including advertising, shortlisting and onboarding
*Drafting contracts and offer letters for employees and casual workers
*Supporting payroll by processing monthly changes accurately and on time
*Maintaining HR records and systems, ensuring data accuracy and compliance
*Monitoring absence, probation periods, and fixed-term contracts
*Supporting visa administration in line with current regulations
*Delivering inductions for new starters
*Contributing to HR projects, process improvements, and staff initiatives
About you
*CIPD Level 3 qualified (or working towards)
*Previous HR administration experience, including recruitment
*Good understanding of employment law and HR best practice
*Highly organised with excellent attention to detail
*Strong interpersonal and communication skills
*Customer-focused with a proactive approach
*Confident using MS Office and able to learn new systems
*Able to work independently and collaboratively
