Full job descriptionMusic Teacher - Secondary SchoolSeptember Start | Long-Term Role | Full-TimeTradewind Recruitment is currently seeking an enthusiastic and talented Music Teacher to join a welcoming secondary school from September. This is a full-time, long-term position, offering an excellent opportunity to inspire students and develop their musical abilities across Key Stages 3 and 4.The successful candidate will be passionate about music education, committed to delivering engaging lessons, and capable of fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment where all students can thrive.
The RoleAs a Music Teacher, you will be responsible for planning and delivering high-quality music lessons that encourage creativity, performance skills, and musical appreciation. You will play a key role in supporting students’ academic progress while helping to develop their confidence and enthusiasm for music.
Key Responsibilities*Plan and deliver engaging and differentiated Music lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4.
*Assess, monitor, and track student progress, providing constructive feedback to support achievement.
*Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes excellent behaviour and learning.
*Prepare students for internal assessments and GCSE examinations where applicable.
*Organise and support musical performances, concerts, productions, and extracurricular activities.
*Collaborate effectively with colleagues within the Performing Arts department and wider school community.
*Maintain accurate records and contribute to departmental planning and development.
*Uphold safeguarding policies and promote the welfare of all students.
Person SpecificationThe ideal candidate will have:
*Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), PGCE, or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
*Experience teaching Music within a secondary school setting.
*Strong subject knowledge and a passion for music education.
*Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
*The ability to motivate and engage students of varying abilities.
*A commitment to raising attainment and supporting student development.
*An enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one through Tradewind Recruitment.
