Reed Education are proud to be working in partnership with a highly regarded, large and thriving special school in the Reading area to recruit a dedicated SEN Teacher for a permanent position starting this September.
About the School
This well-established specialist provision caters for pupils aged 3–19 with complex special educational needs. Every pupil has an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) and benefits from a highly personalised learning experience.
The school supports a wide range of needs, including:
*Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD)
*Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD)
*Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD)
*Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), alongside conditions such as ADHD
*Sensory and physical impairments
Pupils are taught in small classes with high levels of staff support, enabling a truly individualised approach to learning and development.

The Role
As an SEN Teacher, you will:
*Deliver creative, engaging and differentiated lessons tailored to a diverse range of complex needs
*Develop and implement individualised learning plans aligned to EHCP outcomes
*Work collaboratively with therapists, support staff and families to ensure holistic pupil progress
*Foster pupils’ communication, independence and social development
*Play a key role in maintaining the school’s high standards of care and achievement
The Ideal Candidate
*Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/QTLS or equivalent)
*Experience working with SEN pupils, particularly those with complex learning difficulties
*A strong understanding of strategies such as PECS, Makaton, or total communication approaches (desirable)
*A patient, resilient and compassionate approach
*A commitment to inclusive education and pupil-centred learning
