About the RoleWe are seeking a dedicated and resilient SEN Teaching Assistant to join a specialist SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) school in Blackburn. This role will involve supporting pupils across Key Stages 2, 3 and 4, many of whom present with challenging behaviours and complex emotional needs.
This is a temporary to permanent opportunity, offering the chance to secure a long-term position within a supportive and rewarding environment.
Key Responsibilities*Support pupils on a 1:1 and small group basis
*Assist the class teacher with delivering tailored learning activities
*Promote positive behaviour and emotional regulation strategies
*Build strong, trusting relationships with students
*Help create a safe, structured and engaging learning environment
*Manage and de-escalate challenging behaviours effectively
The Ideal Candidate Will Have*Previous experience working with children or young people with SEMH needs
*Strong behaviour management skills
*A calm, patient and consistent demeanour
*The ability to remain resilient in challenging situations
*A proactive and flexible approach to supporting learning
*A genuine passion for supporting vulnerable pupils

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
