Location: ReadingSalary: Competitive, dependent on experience
Contract: Full-time / Term-time only

Reed Education is proud to be working in partnership with a highly regarded specialist provision in the Reading area to recruit a dedicated and compassionate SEMH Mentor.
This is a rewarding opportunity to make a genuine impact supporting pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, helping them thrive both academically and personally in a structured, nurturing environment.

The Role
As an SEMH Mentor, you will:
*Provide 1:1 and small group support for students with SEMH needs
*Build trusting relationships to support emotional regulation and engagement
*Assist in managing behaviour using positive, consistent strategies
*Support learning both in and out of the classroom
*Work closely with teachers, SENCOs, and pastoral teams
*Help students develop confidence, resilience, and social skills
The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for someone who:
*Has experience working with children or young people with SEMH needs
*Is patient, empathetic, and resilient
*Can remain calm under pressure and respond positively to challenging behaviour
*Has a strong interest in mental health and education
*Is a team player with excellent communication skills
Experience in roles such as support work, youth work, teaching assistant roles, or mental health support is highly desirable.
