A unique opportunity has arisen for an experienced Financial Controller to join a privately-owned real estate business managing multiple entities and significant property and project portfolios. This is a broad, hands-on role offering full ownership of finance operations across multiple separate legal entities.
Your new role
Reporting into senior leadership, you will take full responsibility for the financial management and reporting of group businesses, maintaining complete separation of accounting records while supporting strategic decision-making. Key responsibilities will include:
*Managing the end-to-end finance function across group entities
*Producing monthly management accounts, consolidated reporting and variance analysis
*Preparing project cost reports and overseeing large-scale reconstruction budgets
*Leading annual budget preparation and ongoing forecasting
*Managing cash flow, banking relationships, and funding requirements
*Overseeing payroll, HMRC payments, pensions, and regulatory compliance
*Preparing balance sheet reconciliations and funds flow statements
*Producing ad-hoc financial analysis and reports for senior stakeholders
*Supporting property managers with financial insight and advice
*Supervising and developing junior finance staff
*Maintaining and enhancing accounting systems (Sage and Excel)
*Managing debtor processes and funding invoicing
*Overseeing insurance payments, supplier relationships and financial controls
*Supporting IT strategy alongside external teams
What you’ll need to succeed
To be successful in this role, you will be a technically strong and commercially aware finance professional with:
*A recognised accounting qualification (ACCA, CIMA, ACA or equivalent)
*Proven experience in a Financial Controller or senior finance role
*Strong working knowledge of Sage and advanced Excel skills
*Experience managing payroll and financial compliance
*Demonstrable experience producing management accounts and managing budgets
*Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
*Excellent communication skills with the ability to work across teams
*A flexible and proactive approach, with the ability to operate in a hands-on environment
