Salford | Immediate Start | 6-Month Contract
£20-24 per hour
Looking to make a meaningful impact in the charity sector and hit the ground running immediately?
We’re working with a well-respected organisation based in Salford who need an experienced Accountant to join them on a temporary 6-month contract. This is a hands-on role at the heart of the finance function, supporting key decision-making and ensuring financial stability during a critical period.
Location: Salford (office-based)
Hours: Monday–Friday, 9am–5pm
Start: ASAP (immediate availability essential)
What you’ll be doing:
You’ll take ownership of core finance activities, including:
*Producing monthly management accounts, forecasts & cash flow reporting
*Supporting budget planning alongside senior stakeholders
*Preparing annual accounts and liaising with auditors
*Ensuring robust financial controls, system integrity & record-keeping
*Overseeing bank reconciliations, payments and cash flow management
*Supporting procurement activities and financial governance
*Attending and contributing to key committees and meetings
What we’re looking for:
*Qualified accountant OR qualified by experience (QBE)
*Strong background in a finance function (charity preferred)
*Experience with management accounts, budgeting & audits
*Confident managing financial systems and banking arrangements
*Highly organised, methodical, and accurate
*Able to communicate financial information clearly to non-finance stakeholders
Desirable:
*Experience in the charity sector
*Familiarity with Sage or similar accounting systems
