Full job descriptionReed Accountancy are currently assisting an established client in the local area in the recruitment of a Payroll Specialist on a 12-month fixed-term contract. This role is integral to the team, which plays a crucial role in ensuring the firm operates effectively within a tightly-regulated field. Based in Gatwick this role will be working within an established team to ensure accurate and timely payroll processing.
Day-to-day of the role:
*Accurately input payroll data into the payroll software (Workday).
*Ensure all payroll-related deadlines are met.
*Provide excellent customer service support on the Payroll Services Helpdesk via email, telephone, and tickets.
*Liaise with HR/Reward/Benefit Teams to ensure data accuracy.
*Assist in the checking of payroll data input and prepare, check, and process manual payments.
*Calculate statutory payments such as Maternity Pay, Parental Pay, Paternity Pay, and Sick Pay.
*Assist with the controls governing payroll processes and suggest improvements to maintain excellence.
*Investigate and resolve any discrepancies in payroll processing.
*Ensure compliance with HMRC legislation and stay updated on legislative changes.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
*Proven payroll experience in a similar-sized organisation.
*Strong numeracy and meticulous attention to detail.
*Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Excel (including Lookups, formulas, and pivot tables), and Word.
*A qualification in payroll or currently studying for a professional payroll qualification is highly desirable.
*Previous experience using Workday payroll software is advantageous.
*In-depth knowledge of HMRC regulations.
*Ability to handle sensitive situations and maintain confidentiality.
