About the RoleThis is a permanent, full-time position for a dedicated Girls PE Teacher, starting in September. In this role, the successful candidate will deliver high-quality, engaging physical education lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, empowering female students of all abilities. The position requires a passionate educator who can cultivate a love for physical fitness, foster teamwork, and encourage sportsmanship. You will be responsible for driving high participation rates among girls, managing extracurricular sports clubs, and contributing to a positive, energetic departmental culture.

Key Requirements*Qualified Teacher Status (QTS): Holds QTS, QTLS, or an equivalent recognised UK teaching qualification.
*Enhanced DBS: A valid Enhanced DBS clearance registered on the Update Service (or a willingness to apply for one).
*Deep knowledge of the UK National Curriculum for PE at Key Stages 3 and 4.
*Eligibility to Work: Valid legal entitlement to work full-time in the UK.
Key Skills*Inspirational Leadership: Ability to motivate and engage female students of all fitness levels and backgrounds.
*Behaviour Management: Proven skill in maintaining a structured, safe, and respectful learning environment.
*Curriculum Adaptability: Skill in tailoring PE lessons to support special educational needs (SEN) and diverse learning paces.
*Strong Communication: Excellent verbal and written skills to collaborate effectively with students, parents, and staff.
*Diverse Sports Profiling: Proficiency in instructing multiple disciplines, including netball, gymnastics, dance, and athletics.
*Organisation & Planning: Ability to coordinate comprehensive lesson plans, track progress, and manage timetables.
Core Responsibilities*Lesson Delivery: Plan and deliver high-quality, inclusive PE practical and theoretical lessons to girls across KS3 and KS4.
*Extracurricular Programs: Organise, lead, and promote after-school sports clubs, fixtures, and competitive tournaments.
*Student Assessment: Monitor, record, and report on the progress and physical development of pupils against target grades.
*Safety Management: Conduct risk assessments for all sporting activities and ensure sports equipment is safe and well-maintained.
*Promote Inclusivity: Encourage high participation and cultivate a positive attitude toward physical health, especially among reluctant learners.
*Departmental Support: Attend departmental meetings, share best practices, and contribute to the development of the PE curriculum scheme of work.
*Parental Engagement: Attend parent’s evenings and maintain open communication regarding student achievements and behaviour.
*Pastoral Care: Act as a form tutor, providing pastoral support and reinforcing the school’s core values of respect and discipline.
*Professional Development: Actively participate in continuous professional development (CPD) and academy-wide training initiatives.
*Exam Preparation: Prepare and support Key Stage 4 students undertaking vocational sports qualifications or GCSE PE options.
