SEN Teaching Assistant - NewhamProspero Teaching is recruiting a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join an Ofsted-rated Outstanding academy in Newham. This full-time, long-term role involves supporting pupils with additional needs within a mainstream setting.
Role Details:
*Location: Newham
*Position: SEN Teaching Assistant
*Start Date: September 2026
*Contract: Long-term, full-time
*Hours: Monday - Friday
Responsibilities:
*Support pupils with ASD, SLD and PMLD
*Provide 1:1 and small group support
*Assist the class teacher with daily classroom activities
*Support students with personal care where required
*Help promote positive behaviour, engagement and learning
*Build positive relationships with students and staff
Requirements:
*Experience supporting children or young people with SEN
*Ability to manage challenging behaviour
*Experience working with individuals aged 2-19 years
*Valid enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one)
*Right to Work in the UK
*Two professional references
