Full job descriptionWell established North Leeds based family business with a fantastic reputation require an experienced Financial Controller to support the next stage of their development.


Reporting to the Finance Director, you will take overall responsibility for the day-to-day financial management of the business, ensuring the delivery of accurate and timely financial reporting together with effective financial controls across the organisation. Key responsibilities will include:
*Preparation of monthly management accounts and associated financial reporting.
*Leading the budgeting, forecasting and cash flow management processes.
*Ensuring robust financial controls and compliance with all statutory and regulatory requirements.
*Managing the year-end audit process and liaising with external auditors and advisers.
*Overseeing payroll, VAT, tax and other statutory reporting requirements.
*Leading, mentoring and developing the finance team, ensuring high levels of performance and engagement.
*Producing meaningful financial analysis to support commercial decision making.
*Working closely with senior management to provide financial insight and support strategic business initiatives.
*Identifying and implementing process improvements across finance systems and procedures.
*Supporting the continued growth of the business through the delivery of high-quality financial information and commercial guidance.


Ideally you will be CIMA/ACCA/ACA qualified with previous experience operating at Financial Controller level within a commercial environment. Strong technical accounting skills, coupled with the ability to lead and develop a finance function, are essential. Exposure within an IT, engineering or manufacturing environment would be advantageous, although candidates from other commercial backgrounds will also be considered.
