The Role:
On behalf of our client, we are seeking a PA to the Head (this is a term time only role). This is a proactive personal assistant role supporting the Head of the school and reporting directly to the Head. The role is responsible for the day-to-day running of the Head’s Office, including diary management, communications, and a wide range of administrative tasks.
The position requires initiative, confidentiality, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-moving environment. You will work closely with internal and external stakeholders and provide reliable support across a broad range of responsibilities.
Responsibilities will include
• Follow the Head’s direction and proactively ensure the smooth operation of the Head’s Office and diary.
• Uphold the school’s high standards, values, and vision in all office matters.
• Assist the Head with short-term and long-term organisational tasks.
• Confidentially handle sensitive personal matters involving staff, students, and the wider community.
• Develop strong relationships with parents, governors, pupils, and staff, acting as an ambassador for the school.
• Organise and maintain the Head’s diary and inbox, ensuring timely communication.
• Manage information gathering, documentation, and reporting for Governors.
• Oversee incoming and outgoing correspondence, maintaining secure filing systems.
• Coordinate meetings, events, and end-of-term school gatherings, preparing notes and materials.
• Arrange travel, accommodation, and logistics for the Head’s trips, excluding admissions and marketing.
• Collate and file complaints, incidents, and sanctions, supporting the Head’s reporting to Governors.
• Provide additional support to the Senior Leadership Team and cover the reception desk when required.


The Person:
Our client is looking for a highly self-motivated experienced PA, exceptionally organised individual who thrives in a demanding, fast-paced environment. You will be professional, approachable, and confident working with people at all levels. A strong sense of discretion, sound judgement, and a methodical approach are essential.
*Experience of providing high-level administrative support to senior leadership teams
*Experience of dealing with confidential and sensitive information.
*Experience of working in a customer-facing role.
*Experience of working in a school or educational environment would be ideal but not essential
*Excellent communication skills.
*Strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to work calmly under pressure and prioritise competing deadlines.
*Ability to problem solve and investigate queries.
*High level of attention to detail and a methodical and conscientious approach to work.
*Ability to maintain confidentiality and discretion.
*Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
*Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and ISAMS.
*High level of integrity and discretion.


The Hours:
Monday – Friday 8am – 4pm with 30 minutes lunch. This is a term time only role but does required 3 weeks to be worked during school holiday period (timings to be agreed with the Head)


The Location:
Westbury on Trym (Bristol) with car parking – 100% office based
