Academics is working with a number of excellent secondary schools in and around Newbury, all seeking enthusiastic a Cover Supervisor to join them September 2026. We’re looking for proactive, reliable and confident individuals to support students’ learning and maintain high classroom standards when teachers are absent.
This is a great opportunity for anyone with previous school experience, graduates exploring a career in education, or those keen to gain the experience needed for future teacher training. (GCSEs in Maths and English at Grade C/4 or above are required.) There are also opportunities to support SEN students for those with an interest or passion in this area.
Key Responsibilities of a Cover Supervisor
*Maintain positive behaviour and ensure students remain engaged in lessons
*Deliver and supervise pre-prepared work set by the class teacher
*Build strong, professional relationships with students and staff
*Uphold safeguarding and health & safety standards at all times
Ideal Candidate
*Experience working in a school or educational environment
*Strong organisational skills and a keen eye for detail
*A positive attitude and genuine passion for supporting young people
*Confidence in managing behaviour and creating a productive learning atmosphere
*Ability to commute to Newbury
