A welcoming and inclusive primary school in Reading is looking to appoint a dedicated SEN TA to join its supportive team as soon as possible. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about helping children with additional learning needs reach their full potential in a positive and nurturing environment.
The successful SEN TA will work closely with teachers and specialist staff to provide tailored support, encouraging pupils to grow in confidence, develop key skills, and engage fully with their learning.
About the Role
As a SEN TA, you will provide both one-to-one and small group support for pupils with a range of special educational needs. Working collaboratively with the wider school team, you will help create an inclusive classroom where every child feels valued, supported, and motivated to succeed.
Key Responsibilities
*Support pupils individually and in small intervention groups
*Assist teachers in delivering engaging and accessible learning activities
*Adapt classroom resources to meet individual learning needs
*Encourage confidence, independence, and positive participation
*Build strong relationships with pupils, colleagues, and parents
*Promote a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment
About You
The ideal SEN TA will have:
*A caring, patient, and positive approach to supporting children
*Excellent communication and teamwork skills
*A genuine passion for helping pupils with additional needs succeed
*The ability to adapt to different learning styles and situations
*A willingness to learn and develop professionally
*Previous experience supporting children with SEN is beneficial but not essential
