Full job descriptionOur client Salford City council is looking for a Children’s Social Worker to join their MASH team.
Job PurposeTo work within the Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH) by screening, assessing, and responding to contacts and referrals relating to children and young people. The role involves gathering and analysing information from partner agencies to identify levels of risk and ensure timely safeguarding interventions.
Key Responsibilities*Receive, screen, and triage contacts and referrals regarding children and families.
*Undertake timely safeguarding assessments in line with statutory guidance and local procedures.
*Assess the level of risk, harm, and need using professional judgement.
*Determine appropriate thresholds for intervention under:*Early Help
*Child in Need
*Child Protection
*Looked After Children
*Make recommendations for appropriate services or statutory intervention.
*Complete accurate, timely, and high-quality case recordings and assessments.
*Work collaboratively with partner agencies to safeguard children.
*Participate in strategy discussions and multi-agency meetings where required.
*Ensure all practice complies with relevant legislation, statutory guidance, and local safeguarding procedures.
*Manage a caseload effectively while meeting statutory timescales.
