Platform Engineer (Data Platforms)Location: London
We’re looking for a Platform Engineer to build and maintain scalable, secure and high-performance data platforms. You’ll play a key role in ensuring reliable data services while working closely with data scientists, analysts and engineering teams.
What you’ll be doing*Building and maintaining scalable data platform infrastructure
*Ensuring high availability, performance and security of data services
*Developing and maintaining data pipelines
*Collaborating with data teams to integrate tools and services
*Troubleshooting complex platform and data infrastructure issues
*Supporting cross-team integration with wider systems and applications
*Driving improvements across platform architecture and design
What we’re looking forEssential:
*Strong experience in platform engineering / operations (Linux-based)
*Experience with data platforms or big data environments
*Understanding of data lake architectures and data governance
*Strong knowledge of security (encryption, access control, vulnerability management)
*Experience with scripting and automation (Python, Bash, Ansible, Puppet)
*Familiarity with containerisation (Docker, Kubernetes)
Nice to have:
*Experience with CI/CD pipelines (GitLab, Jenkins)
*Exposure to data tooling (Airflow, NiFi, Elasticsearch)
*Experience with Cloudera / Hadoop ecosystems (Spark, Hive, HDFS)
