Reed Education is delighted to be recruiting a Year 3/4 Teaching Assistant on behalf of a welcoming and inclusive 2-form entry primary school in Cheltenham. This is a full-time, long-term opportunity starting in September and continuing for the entire academic year.
This is an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic and committed Teaching Assistant to support pupils as they progress through Lower Key Stage 2, helping them develop confidence, independence, and a love of learning.
The Role
As a Year 3/4 Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with the class teachers and wider Key Stage 2 team to support learning across the classroom, delivering interventions and providing targeted support to help pupils reach their full potential.
Key Responsibilities
*Support the class teacher in delivering engaging and effective lessons.
*Work with individual pupils and small groups to reinforce learning.
*Deliver interventions in literacy and numeracy.
*Support pupils with varying learning needs and abilities.
*Assist with the preparation of classroom resources and learning materials.
*Encourage positive behaviour and pupil engagement.
*Promote pupils’ social, emotional, and academic development.
*Monitor pupil progress and provide feedback to teaching staff.
*Help maintain a positive, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment.
The Ideal Candidate
The successful candidate will:
*Have previous experience working with primary-aged children.
*Ideally have experience supporting pupils within Key Stage 2.
*Be patient, proactive, and adaptable.
*Have strong communication and interpersonal skills.
*Be able to build positive relationships with pupils and staff.
*Demonstrate a genuine passion for supporting children’s learning and development.
*Hold a Teaching Assistant qualification or relevant experience (desirable but not essential).
