We’re partnering with a growing, well-established business in Manchester to recruit an experienced Financial Controller to join their finance leadership team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a qualified accountant looking to take real ownership of the financial operations of a dynamic organisation, working closely with senior stakeholders to drive commercial performance.
The RoleAs Financial Controller, you’ll take charge of the day-to-day financial management of the business, ensuring robust financial control, accurate reporting, and continuous improvement of processes and systems. You’ll play a key role in shaping financial strategy and act as a trusted advisor to the senior leadership team.
Key responsibilities include:
*Overseeing the preparation of monthly management accounts, budgets, and forecasts
*Managing the year-end audit process and statutory accounts preparation
*Ensuring strong financial controls, policies, and compliance across the business
*Leading, mentoring, and developing a small finance team
*Cash flow management and treasury oversight
*Partnering with department heads to support commercial decision-making
*Driving process improvements and system efficiencies
*Supporting the CFO/Finance Director with ad hoc projects and analysis
About You*ACA / ACCA / CIMA qualified (or equivalent)
*Proven experience in a Financial Controller or senior finance management role
*Strong technical accounting knowledge with a hands-on approach
*Excellent communication skills, comfortable engaging with non-finance stakeholders
*Experience managing or mentoring a team
*Highly organised, deadline-driven, and detail-focused
*Advanced Excel skills; experience with modern accounting/ERP systems advantageous
What’s on Offer*Salary of £55,000 - £65,000, depending on experience
*Hybrid working: 3 days onsite per week (Monday, Wednesday, Thursday), 2 days remote
