Full job descriptionTitle: Assistant Retail Manager – Fixed-Term Contract (12 Months)
Reports to: Showroom Manager
To support and assist the Showroom Manager in achieving sales targets and ensuring that all team members provide a consistently high standard of customer service. To help maintain stock levels, ensure customer orders are processed efficiently, and oversee their progress through to completion. To assume management responsibilities in the Store Manager’s absence.
Key Responsibilities
*Maximise all sales opportunities within the store.
*Provide efficient, professional customer service and maintain a welcoming customer-focused environment.
*Support the Store Manager with the recruitment, supervision, motivation, and training of the sales team to ensure high standards of performance and customer care.
*Assist in preparing staff rotas to ensure adequate operational coverage at all times.
*Liaise with operational teams and colleagues to ensure customer orders are completed within agreed timescales and that customers are informed of any delays.
*Ensure the premises are opened and prepared for business on time and safely secured at the end of each day.
*Maintain effective communication with customers and colleagues.
*Ensure adherence to organisational systems, processes, and procedures, including cash handling and end-of-day administration.
*Support team members in developing product knowledge to help customers effectively and maximise sales opportunities.
*Ensure materials, measurements, and order details are accurately calculated and processed.
*Fulfil both in-store and online customer orders efficiently and accurately.
*Ensure customer payments are collected, recorded, and processed securely.
*Support effective stock control procedures and minimise wastage.
*Assist in resolving customer complaints and queries.
*Coordinate appointments for quotations, installations, and deliveries while maintaining regular customer communication.
*Help maintain high standards of cleanliness, presentation, and organisation within the store.
*Comply with all relevant health and safety policies and procedures.
*Undertake any other reasonable duties as required.
*Provide operational support at alternative business locations when necessary.
