Are you passionate about data protection, transparency and good governance?
We’re seeking an organised and proactive Information Governance Officer to join a busy and supportive team. This is an excellent opportunity to develop your knowledge of UK GDPR, Data Protection legislation and wider information governance practices while gaining valuable public sector experience.
This role offers the chance to make a meaningful contribution to the community whilst building specialist skills in a growing and increasingly important field.
The Role
Working within a collaborative Information Governance team, you will help support compliance with information legislation and best practice, ensuring information is managed responsibly across the organisation.
Key responsibilities include:
*Supporting compliance with UK GDPR and Data Protection legislation.
*Assisting with monitoring and reporting data breaches.
*Supporting transparency and information governance initiatives.
*Maintaining accurate records and management information.
*Assisting with information governance enquiries and requests.
*Liaising with internal stakeholders and external regulatory bodies, including the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO).
*Supporting the team in meeting statutory deadlines and governance objectives.
About You
We’re looking for someone who is organised, detail-focused and eager to learn.
You will have:
*A-Level standard education or equivalent.
*Previous office-based administration or support experience.
*Strong organisational skills and keen attention to detail.
*Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
*Ability to interpret policies, procedures and guidance.
*Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office applications.
*Confidence working with colleagues at all levels.
*Ability to work effectively as part of a collaborative team.
*Commitment to equality, diversity and inclusive service delivery.
