Key Responsibilities
*Lead audit engagements for a portfolio of UK and international clients, ensuring delivery to ICAEW auditing standards and internal quality benchmarks.
*Develop and execute audit plans, audit programmes and risk-based testing strategies, including substantive testing and analytical procedures.
*Utilise audit software (CaseWare, IDEA) to prepare working papers, document findings and produce high-quality audit evidence.
*Perform detailed financial statement preparation and review in accordance with IFRS, UK GAAP and other regulatory frameworks.
*Conduct risk assessments, identify control weaknesses and recommend process improvements to clients.
*Maintain effective client communication, building strong relationships while managing expectations and delivering clear insights.
*Coordinate with tax teams to incorporate relevant tax knowledge into audit work where appropriate.
*Mentor junior team members, providing guidance on audit methodology, technical standards and professional development.
*Manage project timelines, budgets and resources to ensure engagements are completed on schedule.
*Stay up-to-date with changes in auditing standards, regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
Essential Qualifications & Skills
*ACCA Member (or equivalent qualification).
*Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
*Proficiency in audit software (CaseWare, IDEA) and Microsoft Office Suite.
*In-depth knowledge of ICAEW Auditing Standards, IFRS, UK GAAP and regulatory requirements.
*Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to build and maintain client relationships.
*Experience in audit planning, programme development, risk assessment and substantive testing.
*Project management and process improvement capabilities.
*Solid understanding of tax concepts and basic financial statement preparation.
Desired Experience
Exactly 3 years of relevant audit experience, preferably within a UK-based accounting practice or a similar professional services environment.
