*Pay Rate: £20.43 per hour paye
*Location: Manchester City Council, Manchester, M2 5DB
*Job Type: Full-time, Temporary (5 - 6 months)
Manchester City Council are looking for two proactive Anti-Social Behaviour Case Officers to join our team. Based primarily at the Town Hall Extension in Manchester City Centre, this role involves significant engagement across the city, working closely with key partners like the Greater Manchester Police to address and enforce against anti-social behaviour (ASB).
Day-to-day of the role:
*Engage directly with individuals on the street, as well as visiting residents and businesses to address ASB concerns.
*Utilize a trauma-informed approach to support individuals involved in ASB, aiming to prevent further offending.
*Undertake standard neighbour nuisance casework using both informal and formal powers to mitigate ASB.
*Prepare and manage cases for potential court action, confidently explaining and enforcing decisions.
*Work collaboratively with Greater Manchester Police and other partners in street-based activities to enhance community safety.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
*Strong communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with professionals, victims, witnesses, and perpetrators.
*Demonstrated resilience and confidence in enforcing legislation, including issuing warnings and preparing legal actions.
*Experience in handling complex ASB cases and leading community safety initiatives.
*Ability to maintain high standards of customer service and stakeholder engagement.
*Proficient in regulatory knowledge, with a focus on compliance and enforcement of relevant legislation.
*Valid Full UK Driving Licence and a Valid Enhanced DBS on the update service are essential.
Key Role Accountabilities:
*Provide expert advice and guidance on enforcing standards and regulating community activity.
*Lead on the delivery of the Council’s statutory enforcement obligations, coordinating with other departments as necessary.
*Ensure all activities are handled within designated timescales, maintaining high standards of impact and quality.
*Maintain up-to-date knowledge in areas of specialism, ensuring the Council adopts and maintains best practices.
*Take responsibility for the quality of data, ensuring all information is recorded accurately and timely.
