Station Assistant - Exeter St Davids
Location: Exeter St Davids Station
Contract: Fixed-Term Contract until 5th September 2026 (Other opportunities after)
Hours: Full Time
Working Pattern: Rotating rota across 7 days per week
Typical Shifts: 09:00-17:00 and 11:00-18:00
We are currently recruiting for a Station Assistant to join the team at Exeter St Davids Station on a full-time basis until 5th September 2026.
This is a varied and customer-focused role at one of the region’s busiest stations. You will play a key part in delivering an excellent customer experience, supporting passengers throughout their journey, and helping to maintain a safe, welcoming, and efficient station environment.
Please note that this role requires a good level of physical fitness, as you will be standing and walking for extended periods throughout your shift.
Key Responsibilities
*Providing exceptional customer service to passengers
*Offering travel information and journey assistance
*Supporting passengers with wayfinding and station facilities
*Assisting customers with reduced mobility and accessibility requirements
*Maintaining a safe, clean, and welcoming station environment
*Responding to customer enquiries professionally and confidently
*Supporting station operations during busy periods and service disruption

*Excellent customer service and communication skills
*A friendly, approachable, and professional attitude
*The ability to remain calm under pressure
*Strong teamwork skills and a willingness to help others
*Reliability, flexibility, and punctuality
*Previous customer-facing experience is desirable but not essential
Working Pattern
This position is based on a rotating rota across 7 days a week, with typical shifts of 09:00-17:00 and 11:00-18:00.
Applicants must be available to work at least two weekends per month and be flexible to meet the needs of the operation. There may also be opportunities to pick up additional shifts when available.
