Full job descriptionElevation Recruitment Group are delighted to be supporting an industry-leading manufacturer in the recruitment of a Test Engineer to join their innovative engineering team based in Halifax.
This is an exciting opportunity for a hands-on engineer who enjoys practical problem-solving and wants to see the direct impact of their work. Working within a purpose-built, world-class physical testing facility, you’ll play a key role in validating the performance, strength and safety of innovative products used to protect people, equipment and workplaces around the world.
If you’re someone who enjoys getting stuck into mechanical testing, working with bespoke equipment and collaborating with product development teams, this is a role where your expertise will make a genuine difference.
This is a highly practical role and would suit someone who enjoys working on the test floor rather than behind a desk.
Key Responsibilities*Prepare and set up test rigs, equipment and test areas within a dedicated physical testing facility.
*Conduct mechanical and physical product testing in line with internal procedures and recognised industry standards.
*Monitor, record and analyse test data, ensuring results are accurate, repeatable and fully documented.
*Produce clear technical reports and communicate findings to engineering and project teams.
*Maintain high standards of health & safety, equipment care and testing processes.
*Support continuous improvement of testing methods, procedures and facility capability.
*Work closely with Research & Development, New Product Development and Operations to deliver testing programmes aligned to project milestones.
*Coach, support and supervise Test Technicians, helping to build a collaborative and high-performing team.
About YouWe’re looking for an enthusiastic engineer with a practical mindset and a passion for testing, engineering excellence and continuous improvement.
You’ll ideally have:
*Experience in a mechanical, physical or product testing environment.
*A hands-on approach with the confidence to set up and carry out practical engineering tests.
*Strong understanding of engineering principles and mechanical systems.
*The ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications and test procedures.
*Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
*Experience producing technical reports and communicating results clearly.
*A proactive approach with excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
*A commitment to maintaining high standards of safety and quality.
