We are seeking a caring, enthusiastic, and committed Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teaching Assistant to join our supportive school community in Chelmsford from September. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about helping children with additional needs achieve their full potential in a nurturing and inclusive environment.
The Role
Working closely with class teachers, the SENCo, and wider support staff, you will provide tailored support to pupils with a range of special educational needs, helping them to access learning, develop confidence, and thrive both academically and socially.
Key responsibilities include:
· Supporting pupils with SEN on a one-to-one and small-group basis.
· Assisting with the delivery of personalised learning programmes.
· Encouraging positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing.
· Helping pupils develop independence, confidence, and social skills.
· Monitoring progress and providing feedback to teaching staff.
· Working collaboratively with teachers, parents, and external professionals where appropriate.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
· Experience of working with children with SEN (school-based experience desirable but not essential).
· A patient, empathetic, and positive approach.
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
· The ability to build strong relationships with pupils and staff.
· A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
· Relevant qualifications or training in education, childcare, or SEN support would be advantageous.
