Position: SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Meldreth, Hertfordshire/Cambridgeshire Border
Salary: £100-£115 per day
Hours: 8:30am - 16:30pm - Monday to Friday
Contract Type: Temp-perm, Term Time Only
Start Date: 03/09/2026
About the Role
We are looking for a caring, patient, and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team. You will work closely with pupils who have Special Educational Needs (SEN), supporting their learning, wellbeing, and development in a positive and inclusive environment.
Key Responsibilities
Support pupils with a range of additional needs, including ASD, ADHD and speech and language difficulties.
Work with the class teacher to deliver personalised learning activities.
Encourage pupils’ independence, confidence, and social development.
Assist with behaviour management using school protocols and independent care plans.
Support pupils during lessons, breaktimes, and school activities.
Help prepare learning resources and classroom materials.
Monitor and record pupils’ progress.
Communicate effectively with teachers, parents/carers, and other professionals.
Essential Requirements
Experience working with children in educational or other relevant industries.
Knowledge of SEN, including ASD, ADHD, SEMH needs.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
A patient, caring, and flexible approach.
GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths: C and above.
Right to work in the UK indefinitely.
Desirable Qualifications (not essential)
Teaching Assistant qualification
First Aid qualification
