Are you a qualified BSL Teaching Assistant looking for a rewarding role where communication and inclusion are at the heart of everything you do?
Remedy Education is recruiting on behalf of a highly regarded specialist primary school in Camden for a dedicated BSL Teaching Assistant to join their team from September. This outstanding specialist setting supports deaf pupils aged 4-11, providing a nurturing and inclusive learning environment where every child is encouraged to achieve their full potential.
This is a fantastic opportunity to join an experienced and supportive team where your British Sign Language skills will have a genuine impact on pupils’ education, confidence, and wellbeing.
The RoleAs a BSL Teaching Assistant, you will:
*Support deaf pupils throughout the school day, both inside and outside the classroom.
*Use British Sign Language (BSL) to facilitate communication, learning, and social interaction.
*Interpret and sign classroom instructions, discussions, and learning activities.
*Work alongside teachers to deliver engaging and accessible learning experiences.
*Encourage pupils’ confidence, independence, and emotional wellbeing.
*Support speech, language, and communication development in collaboration with specialist professionals.
*Foster a positive, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.
The Ideal CandidateThe successful candidate will have:
*A minimum BSL Level 2 qualification (essential).
*Previous experience working with children, ideally within a primary school, SEN, or specialist education setting.
*Confidence using BSL within a classroom environment.
*Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
*A patient, caring, and proactive approach to supporting children.
*A genuine passion for inclusive education and supporting deaf learners.
*The ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
