Job Description:
Full job descriptionJob PurposeThe Recruitment Officer will be responsible for supporting the end-to-end recruitment process, ensuring vacancies are filled efficiently with high-quality candidates. The role involves advertising vacancies, sourcing candidates, screening applications, arranging interviews, maintaining recruitment systems, and providing an excellent service to recruiting managers and applicants.
Key ResponsibilitiesRecruitment Administration*Manage recruitment campaigns from vacancy approval through to appointment.
*Create and post job adverts across recruitment platforms and social media channels.
*Monitor applications and maintain accurate candidate records.
*Ensure all recruitment activity complies with company policies and employment legislation.
*Coordinate pre-employment checks, including references, right-to-work checks and other relevant clearances.
Candidate Management*Screen applications against job requirements.
*Contact candidates to discuss vacancies and suitability.
*Schedule and coordinate interviews and assessment activities.
*Maintain regular communication with candidates throughout the recruitment process.
*Provide a positive candidate experience at all stages of recruitment.
Hiring Manager Support*Liaise with hiring managers to understand recruitment requirements.
*Provide updates on vacancy progress and candidate pipelines.
*Assist with interview arrangements and recruitment documentation.
*Support managers in achieving recruitment targets and timescales.
Systems & Reporting*Maintain recruitment databases, CRM systems, applicant tracking systems (ATS), and spreadsheets.
*Produce recruitment reports and statistics as required.
*Ensure all candidate and vacancy information is accurate and up to date.
*Monitor recruitment activity and identify opportunities for process improvements.
Compliance*Ensure recruitment activities adhere to UK employment legislation, GDPR, and safeguarding requirements where applicable.
*Maintain confidentiality of candidate and employee information.
*Complete all onboarding documentation accurately and efficiently.
Person SpecificationEssential Experience*Previous experience in recruitment, resourcing, HR administration, or a similar role.
*Experience managing multiple vacancies simultaneously.
*Experience using recruitment databases, ATS, CRM systems, or HR systems.
*Strong administrative and organisational skills.
Essential Skills*Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
*Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
*Ability to prioritise workload and meet deadlines.
*Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and Outlook.
*Ability to build effective working relationships with candidates and hiring managers.
Desirable Skills & Experience*Experience recruiting within the public sector ,education, local government, or agency recruitment.
*Knowledge of employment legislation and recruitment best practices.
*Experience with social media recruitment and candidate sourcing.
