About the Role
We are seeking an organised and proactive People Assistant to join our People & Culture team. This is an excellent opportunity for an HR professional looking to develop their experience across the full employee lifecycle within a supportive and fast-paced environment.
The successful candidate will provide administrative and operational support across recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, training, compliance, and employee engagement activities. You will play a key role in ensuring a positive employee experience while maintaining high standards of confidentiality and accuracy.
Key Responsibilities
*Provide day-to-day administrative support to the People & Culture function.
*Maintain accurate employee records and update HR systems.
*Support recruitment activities, including advertising vacancies, arranging interviews, and preparing offer documentation.
*Assist with onboarding processes, including references, inductions, and probation reviews.
*Coordinate employee training, maintain training records, and update skills matrices.
*Liaise with internal departments to ensure new starter and leaver processes are completed efficiently.
*Support employee engagement initiatives and performance review processes.
*Assist with the administration of employee relations matters, including absence management, disciplinary and grievance processes.
*Take accurate and confidential minutes during HR meetings, investigations, inductions, and employee discussions.
*Support the review and updating of HR policies and procedures to ensure compliance with employment legislation and best practice.
*Handle confidential employee information in line with GDPR requirements.
*Provide occasional reception cover as required.
*Undertake additional administrative and project support duties as required by the People & Culture team.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have previous experience within an HR, People, or administrative environment and be confident managing multiple priorities while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
*Previous experience within HR administration, recruitment, or employee relations support.
*Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office applications.
*Basic understanding of UK employment law and HR best practice.
*Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
*Strong organisational and time management abilities.
*High attention to detail and accuracy.
*Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information professionally.
*Proactive and adaptable approach to work.
*Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
*Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build effective relationships at all levels.
Desirable
CIPD qualification or currently studying towards CIPD certification.
