The role
As an Employment Associate Solicitor, you’ll handle a broad range of contentious and non-contentious matters, with a particular focus on contentious work. Day to day, this includes:
*Advising on employment disputes, including unfair dismissal, discrimination, whistleblowing and breach of contract claims
*Preparing and defending Employment Tribunal proceedings, including hearings and judicial mediations
*Providing practical advice on disciplinary, grievance, absence management and workplace policies
*Supporting transactional matters, including M&A, due diligence and TUPE
*Drafting and reviewing employment contracts, consultancy agreements and NXD appointments
*Advising on restructures, redundancies, settlement agreements and negotiated exits
*Working alongside dispute resolution colleagues on restrictive covenants and post-termination matters
*Delivering client training, webinars and thought leadership content
About you
This role would suit an Employment Solicitor who:
*Has established experience in employment law, ideally at Associate level (candidates without this level are encouraged to apply)
*Has handled a mix of contentious and non-contentious employment matters
*Has solid knowledge of employment and discrimination law
*Has experience of Tribunal litigation and advocacy support
*Has some transactional experience, including M&A and TUPE (advantageous but not essential)
*Has excellent drafting, negotiation and communication skills
*Takes a commercial, solutions-focused approach to client work
