Temp to Perm Opportunity
Our client is seeking a detail-oriented Accounts Assistant to join their busy Finance Department in Croydon. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced finance professional looking for a long-term position with the potential to become permanent.
The Role
Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will play a key role in supporting the day-to-day finance function, ensuring financial transactions are processed accurately and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
*Processing daily payments including BACS, card and cheque transactions.
*Recording payment receipts and maintaining accurate records within Sage 200.
*Exporting and importing financial data between Microsoft Access and Sage 200.
*Managing client bank account reconciliations and resolving discrepancies.
*Processing client refunds in line with company procedures.
*Reviewing insurer statements and investigating account variances.
*Monitoring and managing aged debtors.
*Sending payment receipts and handling finance-related client queries.
*Supporting month-end activities, reporting and general finance administration.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
*Previous experience within an Accounts Assistant, Finance Assistant, Bookkeeper or similar finance role.
*Strong understanding of accounting processes including payments, receipts, reconciliations and debtor management.
*Good working knowledge of Sage 200 or a similar accounting package.
*Strong Excel skills including formulas, lookups, filters and pivot tables.
*Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
*Strong communication skills and confidence dealing with clients over the phone and by email.
*The ability to work independently while contributing effectively to a team environment.
Desirable
*Knowledge of Microsoft Access.
*Experience reconciling insurer statements.
*AAT qualification or studies towards a finance qualification.
