Full job descriptionOur client, Leicestershire County Council, is seeking an agency Social Worker for its Permanence service.
This post is for 4.5 days per week.
This post will last at least 3 months, paid at £38 per hour.

The role will involve the following:
*The work of the team is to provide permanence through identifying and matching children and adopters together.
*This requires taking the lead in securing early permanence by taking responsibility for a child’s journey to an adoptive placement from the point that adoption is considered to be a potential outcome.
*The team are looking for experienced and passionate social workers to work within our stable and developing team alongside supportive and approachable managers.
*The Permanence Social Worker will work alongside the fieldwork teams when care plans are being twin tracked with a plan of adoption.
*The Permanence Social Worker will complete Child Permanence Reports and Sibling Assessments during court proceedings and will take the lead for ensuring that the child is fully prepared and that adopters are well supported by providing all relevant paperwork that gives detailed and robust analysis of the child’s current and predicted needs based on their past experiences.
*This will inform matching, introduction and placement support.
*The Permanence Social Worker takes on the role of allocated social worker from point of Placement Order and therefore supports children through the process of being matched, introduced and settled in their adoptive families up to the granting of an Adoption Order.
*We case weight cases, max for a full time worker would be 20 and a CPR equates to 1.5 and matching 2. We amend caseloads to reflect the case weighting numbers
*There are two managers currently within the family finding part of the service, one full time and one who works 4 days. We work closely with the adoption assessment TM and post order TM.
*
*Within family finding we have now 4 support workers (one of these is a life story support worker) we then have 8 permanence social workers and 1 senior practitioner within the team.
*2 days per week in the office ideally
Requirements of the role:
*Qualified Social Worker
*Fully Social Work England registered
*3 years post-qualified experience in employment of a local authority (DFE rules)
*Experience in childcare social work, including experience of adoption i.e. family finding and matching through to Adoption Order.
*Substantial experience of working within Children’s Social Care Service settings and in the provision of Foster or Adoption Care Services
*Experience of Family Finding work/support to carers
*Experience of formulating and implementing child care plans to promote positive outcomes.
*Experience of care proceedings preferable too.
