Full job descriptionSocial Worker - Family Help Location: West Midlands (Leominster area)
Rate: Up to £30.57 per hour
Contract: Initial 3-month contract with the potential for extension
Hours: 37 hours per week
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Qualified Social Worker to join a Family Help team within a local authority.
This is an excellent opportunity to work within a supportive, locality-based team, helping children and families achieve positive outcomes through early intervention, safeguarding and multi-agency working.
The RoleAs a Social Worker within the Family Help team, you will manage a varied caseload, working directly with children, young people and their families to assess need, reduce risk and deliver effective interventions.
Your responsibilities will include:
*Managing a caseload of children and families requiring statutory intervention.
*Completing assessments, developing Family Help Plans and reviewing progress.
*Working closely with partner agencies to deliver coordinated support.
*Chairing and attending Child in Need, Core Group and Strategy Meetings.
*Undertaking safeguarding and risk assessments where concerns arise.
*Building positive relationships with children and families using a strengths-based approach.
*Preparing high-quality reports and maintaining accurate case records, including court work where required.
About YouTo be considered, you will have:
*A recognised Social Work qualification (Degree, DipSW, CQSW or equivalent).
*Current Social Work England registration.
*At least 3 years’ post-qualified experience within Children’s Services.
*Strong knowledge of safeguarding legislation and statutory guidance.
*Experience within Family Help, Child Protection, Assessment or similar frontline teams.
*Excellent assessment, communication and report-writing skills.
*The ability to work effectively within a multi-agency environment.
