About the Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Quality Control Technician to join a well-established engineering and manufacturing business. Working within the Quality Department, you will play a key role in ensuring that components, assemblies, and finished products meet stringent quality standards and engineering specifications.
This is an excellent opportunity for a quality-focused individual who enjoys working in a hands-on manufacturing environment and is passionate about continuous improvement, accuracy, and maintaining the highest levels of product quality.
Key Responsibilities
*Carry out inspections of purchased goods both at supplier premises and upon receipt, completing all required documentation and reports.
*Inspect in-house manufactured components to ensure compliance with engineering drawings and specifications.
*Perform inspections during the build process, on final assemblies, and on returned equipment.
*Conduct dimensional checks and investigations as required, recording findings accurately.
*Undertake calibration of measuring instruments, including micrometres, verniers, pressure gauges, and other precision tools.
*Maintain calibration records and procedures in line with business requirements.
*Monitor and report on temperature control within the standards room.
*Ensure all quality activities are completed accurately, efficiently, and within agreed timescales.
*Adhere to all health and safety procedures and contribute to maintaining a safe working environment.
*Support the wider Quality team and undertake additional duties as reasonably required.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have previous experience within a Quality Control position in a manufacturing or engineering environment and be confident using a range of inspection and measurement equipment.
Essential Requirements
*Previous experience working in a Quality Control role.
*Experience using and programming Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM).
*Knowledge of calibration methods for mechanical tooling.
*Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
*Experience using a variety of measuring instruments, including:
*Internal and external micrometres
*Depth gauges
*Verniers
*Measuring equipment up to 1.5 metres
*Experience working within a manufacturing environment.
*Competent user of Microsoft Office and business IT systems.
*Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
*High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
*Strong written and verbal communication skills.
*Ability to work to challenging deadlines.
*Self-motivated with a proactive approach.
*Strong team player with a desire to contribute to business success.
Hours & Salary
*7.45 – 4.30 Monday – Thursday 7.45 – 12.15 Friday
*£13.73 - £15 per hour
