Start Date: September 2026
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 3:30pm
Salary: Competitive daily rate (dependent on experience)
Are you an enthusiastic and adaptable Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) looking for a rewarding new opportunity this September?
A warm, welcoming and thriving primary school in Thurrock is seeking a confident HLTA to join their friendly team on a full-time basis. This is a varied and rewarding role where you’ll play a key part in supporting teaching and learning across the whole school.
The RoleAs the school’s HLTA, you will:
*Cover classes across Early Years to Year 6 during teacher PPA time, training and absence.
*Deliver engaging, well-planned lessons that maintain high standards of learning and behaviour.
*Lead small group and 1:1 intervention programmes when not covering classes, helping pupils make excellent progress in core subjects.
*Work closely with teachers and the wider school team to support pupils of all abilities.
*Build positive relationships with children, staff and parents, contributing to the school’s supportive community.
The Ideal CandidateThe successful HLTA will:
*Hold HLTA status or have significant experience leading whole-class teaching.
*Be confident teaching across the primary age range.
*Have excellent classroom management and communication skills.
*Be flexible, proactive and passionate about helping children achieve their best.
*Be committed to creating an inclusive, engaging and positive learning environment.
