*Job Type: Full-time, Temporary (3 months)
Rochdale Council are looking for a dedicated Administrator to join our Environmental Management Service team. This role is essential for providing a wide range of business and technical support functions, ensuring efficient and effective service delivery in line with Council policies and procedures.
Day-to-day of the role:
*Serve as the main customer contact at Green Lane Reception, both in person and by telephone.
*Undertake various business/technical support functions including reception/telephone duties, data input and retrieval, and management of environmental records.
*Process and distribute incoming and outgoing mail.
*Assist in the procurement of goods and services, including ordering stationery.
*Maintain data quality for all environmental management records.
*Prepare and collate information, including preparing incoming payments for central banking and taking Paris payments.
*Assist with the collection of data for Service Key Performance Indicators.
*Perform word processing, log customer/member queries, and administer vehicle hire and MOT for taxi drivers.
*Use ICT systems effectively for duties such as typing letters in Word and creating spreadsheets in Excel.
*Prepare routine correspondence and keep up-to-date information about the service.
*Monitor levels of office consumables, manage inventories, and order stocks as appropriate.
*Assist with the processing of orders and invoices, ensuring timely payment within the Council’s targets.
*Assist with the preparation of Sundry Debtors Accounts and interservice recharges.
*Assist in the reconciliation of cash income and prepare for banking, maintaining records of cash and cheques received.
*Deliver a customer-focused service by responding proactively to requests for advice, guidance, and support.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
*Experience in administrative roles, preferably within a public sector or environmental management context.
*Proficient in using ICT systems, including Microsoft Word and Excel.
*Strong organizational and time management skills.
*Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
*Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
*Experience in handling sensitive information and maintaining confidentiality.
