At AP Education, we deliver personalised education for young people who are unable to attend mainstream school. Working closely with schools, local authorities, and families, we provide flexible, learner-centred support that helps young people re-engage, rebuild confidence, and achieve meaningful outcomes.

We are looking for qualified and licensed Thrive Practitioners to join us on a contractual basis to carry out Thrive assessments for learners across our Alternative Provision placements. This is a rewarding opportunity to use your expertise to shape the emotional wellbeing and development of children and young people with SEND, SEMH, and EBSA needs.

About the Role
As a Thrive Assessor working with AP Education, you will:
*Complete initial and termly Thrive assessments to identify each learner’s social and emotional developmental stage.
*Plot progress across areas such as emotional regulation, resilience, self-esteem, and relationships.
*Produce clear, action-focused reports and recommended strategies to guide tutors, families, and stakeholders.
*Work collaboratively with our Education Delivery Coordinators (EDCos) to ensure assessment outcomes are embedded into each learner’s Individualised Learning Plan (ILP).
*Ensure the learner’s voice and family input remain central throughout the process.
*Uphold safeguarding best practice at every stage.
What We’re Looking For
*A current, valid Thrive Licensed Practitioner qualification.
*Experience assessing children and young people, ideally within SEND, SEMH, or Alternative Provision settings.
*Strong report-writing skills and the ability to translate assessment findings into practical strategies.
*A warm, patient, trauma-informed approach.
*An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
*Self-employed status and the ability to work flexibly across placements.
