Full job descriptionAre you an experienced pastoral practitioner looking for a permanent move into one of the UK’s most successful multi-academy trusts?
We are currently recruiting for a Behaviour Support Officer on behalf of a high-achieving secondary academy in Greenwich, part of the prestigious Harris Federation. This is not a standard cover or day-to-day role, it is a fully permanent opportunity for a pastoral specialist who wants to make a long-term impact on student outcomes.

The RoleWorking directly alongside the Heads of Year and the wider pastoral team, you will be a visible, grounding presence in the school, helping students overcome emotional and behavioural barriers to learning.
*Targeted Intervention: Run 1-on-1 and small group mentoring sessions focusing on emotional regulation, conflict resolution, and resilience.
*De-escalation: Responsibly manage and diffuse challenging situations across the academy floor, utilising restorative practices.
*Action Plans: Design, implement, and track tailored behaviour improvement plans for high-need students.
*Parent Liaison: Build trusting, collaborative relationships with families to ensure a joined-up approach between home and school.
What You Need to Apply (Essential Criteria)This academy is looking for someone to hit the ground running. To be considered, you must possess:
*Proven Pastoral Experience: A solid, verifiable background working in a pastoral, behaviour support, or youth-work capacity within a secondary school setting.
*Strong Conflict-Resolution Skills: Expert knowledge of de-escalation techniques and restorative justice.
*Resilience & Character: A naturally calm, positive demeanour and the ability to maintain a professional, cool head under pressure.
