We are looking for an enthusiastic and organised Volunteer Coordinator to join a purpose-driven charity and help deliver an exceptional volunteering experience.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is passionate about people, community engagement, and creating meaningful volunteer experiences. You will play a key role in recruiting, onboarding, supporting and recognising volunteers, helping to build an engaged and inclusive volunteer community that makes a real impact.
About the Role
As Volunteer Coordinator, you will oversee and continuously improve the volunteer journey, ensuring every volunteer feels welcomed, supported, valued and equipped to contribute effectively. Working closely with colleagues across the organisation, you will develop processes, systems and engagement initiatives that encourage long-term volunteer involvement and satisfaction.
Key responsibilities include:
*Coordinating volunteer recruitment, onboarding and induction activities.
*Maintaining accurate volunteer records and ensuring compliance with safeguarding and data protection requirements.
*Developing and improving volunteer processes to create a positive and inclusive experience.
*Designing and delivering volunteer engagement, recognition and stewardship initiatives.
*Supporting colleagues with guidance, tools and best practice for working effectively with volunteers.
*Monitoring volunteer participation, satisfaction and retention, producing reports and insights to support continuous improvement.
*Promoting inclusive volunteering practices and celebrating volunteer contributions across the organisation.
About You
We are looking for someone who is highly organised, people-focused and passionate about fostering strong volunteer relationships.
You will bring:
Knowledge
*Understanding of volunteer management, including recruitment, safeguarding and data protection.
*Awareness of equality, diversity and inclusion best practice within volunteering.
*Familiarity with CRM and volunteer management systems.
Skills
*Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
*Strong organisational and administrative abilities with excellent attention to detail.
*Ability to develop and improve processes that enhance efficiency and experience.
*Confidence using digital tools and data to support reporting and decision-making.
Experience
*Experience coordinating or supporting volunteers within a charity, community or not-for-profit environment.
*Experience creating engagement, induction or training materials.
*Experience working collaboratively across teams and influencing positive practice.
