Job Description:
Full job descriptionAt Waterloo Manor we are seeking a dedicated Occupational Therapist Assistant to join our healthcare team. This role involves supporting licensed occupational therapists in delivering patient-centred therapy programmes aimed at improving functional independence and quality of life. The successful candidate will work closely with clients across diverse settings, providing essential assistance in therapy sessions and contributing to personalised treatment plans. Duties
*Assist licensed occupational therapists in implementing therapy programmes tailored to individual patient needs
*Support patients during therapy sessions, encouraging participation and engagement
*Prepare therapy materials and equipment required for sessions
*Monitor patient progress and report observations to the supervising therapist
*Maintain accurate documentation of therapy activities and patient responses
*Support patients with daily activities, promoting independence and confidence
*Contribute to the organisation of therapy schedules and appointments
*Uphold health and safety standards within the clinical environment
*Communicate effectively with patients, families, and team members to ensure cohesive care delivery
Qualifications
*Relevant qualification as an Occupational Therapist Assistant or equivalent recognised training programme
*Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with patients of all ages and backgrounds
*Proficiency in English, both written and spoken
*Basic IT skills for maintaining accurate records and documentation
*Experience or interest in teaching or guiding patients through therapeutic exercises is advantageous
*Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
*Compassionate approach with excellent organisational skills
*Commitment to ongoing professional development and adherence to healthcare regulations
