Reporting to: Head of Prep

Purpose of the Job
An Early Years Educator is a key member of the Early Year’s team responsible for delivering high quality learning opportunities for children, based on the needs and interests of those children. The successful candidate will play a vital role in nurturing and developing young children’s skills, ensuring a safe and stimulating environment that promotes learning through play. This position requires a strong commitment to early childhood education and the ability to engage effectively with children, parents, and colleagues.
Responsibilities:
· Plan and implement engaging educational activities that cater to the developmental needs of Early Years children.
· Foster a warm, welcoming atmosphere that encourages children’s social, emotional, and cognitive development.
· Observe and assess children’s progress, maintaining accurate records of their development.
· Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding their child’s progress and any concerns.
· Collaborate with fellow educators to create a cohesive learning environment.
· Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, maintaining a clean and safe learning environment.
· Encourage and model appropriate behaviour and expectations in line with School policy
· Attend parent events and meetings as required
· Promote the School to current parents and potential customers
· Implement policies and procedures to ensure compliance with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and other statutory requirements
· Observe and plan appropriately for the children using the school materials
· Ensure that children are kept safe and where necessary follow child protection procedures.
· Practise positive behaviour management techniques
· Support the senior team and work together to ensure a good or better inspection outcome
· Attend staff meetings and training sessions necessary for Continuous Professional Development
· Participate in all self development activities including appraisal and supervisions
· Maintain staffing ratios in accordance with statutory regulations
