Full job descriptionLearning Assistant, Museum, temp role Wednesday 29 July 9:15-16:45 with 30 minute unpaid break, £14.80 per hour plus holiday pay
World renowned Museum in West London requires a Learning Assistant on Wednesday 20th July. This would suit you if you have an enhanced DBS and experience working with children and young people. This role is to support the children and young people attending the museum by providing a safe, inspiring and positive learning environment.
The main duties of the Learning Assistant role are:
*Working with members of the Design Museum Learning team to supervise children and young people at multiple learning workshops held at the museum
*This includes inside the classroom, on breaks and visits to museum spaces open to the general public
*Supporting learning during workshop activities, providing additional support to children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities, including neurodivergence
*Assisting with the registration of children and young people onto the events
*Assisting with the administration of post-event feedback surveys
*Assisting with the provision of refreshments during workshop breaks
*Assisting with the set-up and clearing up of Learning workshops, as well as tidying up throughout the day
*Inputting data from workshop feedback forms into online systems
*Assist the learning team in signing out children after the workshop and liaising with parents/guardians when necessary
*Using clear communication to support appropriate behaviour and engagement both in the workshop and during supervised breaks
*Supporting learners to actively engage in the session
*Supporting the facilitator with workshop behaviour management, as necessary
*Invigilating during breaks
