Full job descriptionAbout the OpportunityAn exciting opportunity has arisen for a Junior IBA Technician/IBA Technician to join a growing Insurance Broking Accounts (IBA) team within the London Insurance Market.
This role would suit someone looking to develop a career in insurance finance, working within a multi-currency environment and gaining exposure to client money processes, reconciliations and Lloyd’s market transactions. Full training will be provided, making this an excellent opportunity for someone looking to build upon existing finance or insurance experience.
You’ll work alongside an experienced IBA team, supporting the accurate processing of client and insurer funds while ensuring regulatory and operational standards are maintained.
What is the day-to-day of the role?*Process daily bank reports, accurately posting receipts and payments to the appropriate ledgers.
*Monitor client and underwriter accounts, ensuring balances are maintained and reconciled.
*Assist with the processing and allocation of payments across Non-Statutory Trust (NST) accounts.
*Prepare and issue remittance advice and payment reports to counterparties.
*Investigate and resolve unallocated cash and payment queries.
*Complete weekly reconciliations across multiple bank accounts.
*Support month-end reporting and reconciliation processes.
*Assist with reporting and analysis projects alongside the wider Finance team.
*Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure deadlines and regulatory requirements are consistently achieved.
Required Skills and Qualifications*Previous experience within Finance, Accounts, Insurance, Banking or an administrative environment is advantageous.
*Strong numerical skills with excellent attention to detail.
*Confident using Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word.
*Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
*Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
*Ability to work accurately under pressure and meet deadlines.
*A proactive approach to problem solving and investigating queries.
*Understanding of basic accounting principles is desirable.
*Previous exposure to the London Insurance Market, IBA or Global XB would be beneficial but is not essential, as full training will be provided.
