Salary: £80,000–£100,000 + Annual Bonus + Comprehensive Benefits
An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Chartered Financial Planner to join a well-established and growing financial planning business as Head of Advice.
This is a unique role combining people leadership with client-facing financial planning, offering the chance to shape and develop a high-performing advice team while continuing to advise high-net-worth clients.
The RoleThis is a 50/50 strategic and advisory position, reporting directly to the Growth Director.
Initially, you will manage a team of 4–5 Chartered Financial Advisers, taking responsibility for the day-to-day leadership and development of the core advice team while maintaining your own portfolio of clients.
You will inherit an existing client bank while also supporting new business generation through seminars, networking and professional introducer relationships.
Key Responsibilities*Lead and develop a team of 4–5 Chartered Financial Advisers
*Conduct regular one-to-one meetings, performance reviews and quarterly PDPs
*Set weekly objectives and oversee adviser performance and development
*Mentor advisers and support career progression across varying experience levels
*Help develop advisers and technical staff, including paraplanners progressing into advice
*Provide holistic financial planning advice to high-net-worth clients
*Build and maintain long-term client relationships
*Generate new business through networking, referrals and seminar activity
*Ensure high standards of technical excellence and FCA compliance
*Work closely with senior management to support the continued growth of the advice function
Client Base*Typical client assets: £500,000+
*Average client AUM: £3m–£5m
*Senior advisers typically advise on £5m–£15m client portfolios
*High-net-worth clients are supported through dedicated pod structures
Support StructureYou’ll be fully supported to focus on delivering high-quality advice, including:
*Dedicated Paraplanner
*Dedicated Administrator
*Established pod structure for complex, high-net-worth clients
*Shared central paraplanning and administration support for the wider advice team
About You*Chartered Financial Planner (preferred)
*Proven experience providing holistic financial planning advice
*Previous experience leading, mentoring or developing advisers
*Strong people management and coaching skills
*Passion for developing high-performing teams
*Excellent technical knowledge across pensions, investments, retirement and tax planning
*Strong business development and relationship management skills
Salary & Benefits*£80,000–£100,000 basic salary (depending on experience)
