Full job descriptionWe are seeking an experienced Policy and Public Affairs Lead to develop and deliver policy and advocacy strategies that influence government, parliament, regulators and industry stakeholders. This role combines policy development, stakeholder engagement and public affairs leadership, translating complex technical expertise into clear and impactful policy recommendations.

Description
*Lead the development and delivery of public affairs strategies to influence government departments, parliamentarians, regulators and other external stakeholders.
*Develop policy positions across areas such as financial services regulation, pensions, long-term savings, risk management, AI, data analytics and sustainability.
*Produce high-quality consultation responses, policy papers and briefing materials, translating complex technical issues into accessible recommendations.
*Build and maintain strong relationships with policymakers, regulators, industry bodies, think tanks and other strategic stakeholders.
*Provide advice to senior leadership and governance committees while supporting organisational strategy, business planning and policy prioritisation.
Profile
*Significant experience in policy and public affairs, ideally within financial services, pensions, insurance, regulation, public policy or a membership organisation.
*Strong understanding of UK government, parliamentary and regulatory processes, with experience developing and delivering influencing strategies.
*Proven ability to analyse complex technical issues and develop clear, evidence-based policy positions.
*Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with experience engaging senior external and internal audiences.
*Highly organised, with the ability to manage multiple priorities, deliver to deadlines and build consensus among diverse stakeholders.
