We’re recruiting an Accounts Assistant to join a growing, hybrid-working business in London, supporting the Head of Finance across invoicing, accounts payable, bank reconciliations, credit control, and financial reporting. This is a broad, hands-on role offering significant responsibility, flexibility, and excellent development opportunities for someone with Xero and finance administration experience.

Description


*Managing the end-to-end accounts payable process, including processing supplier invoices, expenses, and ensuring accurate VAT treatment.
*Raising and managing sales invoices in line with client payment terms, while supporting credit control and aged debt reporting.
*Performing daily bank reconciliations and maintaining accurate financial records within Xero.
*Preparing weekly payment runs and assisting with cash flow management.
*Supporting project managers with project forecasting, procurement tracking, and resolving finance-related queries.
*Managing company expense cards through Moss, ensuring transactions are correctly coded and supported by receipts.
*Acting as a key point of contact for supplier and client finance queries via the finance inbox.
*Assisting the Head of Finance with budgeting, reporting, financial analysis, and continuous improvement of finance processes.
*Delivering finance systems and process training to new employees and freelancers as part of the induction programme.


Profile


The ideal candidate will have previous experience in an Accounts Assistant or Finance Assistant role, with hands-on knowledge of sales invoicing, accounts payable, expenses, VAT, and bank reconciliations. You will be highly organised, detail-oriented, and confident managing multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy in a fast-paced environment.
Experience using Xero is essential, and you will possess strong communication skills, enabling you to build effective relationships across the business and confidently challenge stakeholders and suppliers when required. An AAT qualification (or working towards one) would be advantageous but is not essential. Most importantly, you’ll be proactive, eager to learn, and keen to take ownership within a growing organisation where you can make a genuine impact.
